K-Pacs to K-Pacs?

  • Hello everyone,

    I am a student and very new to PACS and DICOM. I've searched the forums but was only able to find bits and pieces of information specific to what I'm trying to achieve. So, if someone can guide me on my specific scenario I'd really appreciate it.

    I've successfully setup a testing environment where Modality-1 sends Images to K-PACS 1 (setup on PC-1). Also, there is a Modality-2 which sends Images to K-PACS 2 (setup on PC-2). I have 3rd K-PACS (PC-3) which I want to make some sort of a central server where all Modalities send their Images.

    So I want K-PACS 1 and K-PACS 2 to be able to send their Images to K-PACS 3. How can I achieve this?

    I know there is another software called Conquest which might be required for this setup, but I don't have any experience with it.

    Once again, I'm still learning all of this so do please take that into consideration while outlining any steps. Thanks everyone.

  • So is this forum dead?

    Or maybe this is not possible with this software? I would still like to know.

    Or maybe this has already been answered before? If someone could just provide a like to the thread I missed, that would be enough.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can you provide steps as to how I can achieve this? Maybe a link? Like I said previously, I'm fairly new to this and any sort of detailed guidance would be appreciated.

    1. Installation process of Conquest (what configurations should I make?)

    2. How should I connect my K-Pacs systems to the Conquest server?

    Thanks.

  • Here is an example:

    0.

    ip_address is the IP address of your computer, e.g. type IPCONFIG in a command prompt and find:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :

    Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::c5e2:626a:fe4b:a6e4%14

    IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.43.63

    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0

    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.43.1

    If everthing runs on one computer ip_address can also be 127.0.0.1 which stands for localhost. Good for testing.

    1.

    Make a conquest install in folder1, set server name to ARCHIVE1, IP port to 104

    Make a conquest install in folder2, set server name to ARCHIVE2, IP port to 105

    Make a conquest install in folder3, set server name to ARCHIVE3, IP port to 106

    Add to the top of the known dicom providers list on all three archives:

    ARCHIVE1 ip_address 104 un

    ARCHIVE2 ip_address 105 un

    ARCHIVE3 ip_address 106 un

    add to dicom.ini in ARCHIVE1 above the [lua] section:

    ExportConverter0 = forward to ARCHIVE3

    add to dicom.ini in ARCHIVE2 above the [lua] section:

    ExportConverter0 = forward to ARCHIVE3

    2. Add DICOM image source to KPACS:

    ARCHIVE3 ip_address 106

    Good luck!

    Marcel
